So begins my story of photography. In December of 2012, Mr. Goodin (that is the husband if you don't know) decided to nurture my love of photography. He purchased a Nikkon D5100 for me. Overwhelmed by it's beauty, I had no idea what to do with it. Periodically by his insisting, we would take it with us. I was still married to my Galaxy camera phone. I would take photos, post to Facebook and be done. I did take a couple of DSLR "how to use your camera" classes. I just found myself more overwhelmed. I think I realized that I couldn't take the pictures I was "seeing" in my mind. I realized that I had a real love of macro photography but my lens was not helping me get my photographic point across. Then this past Christmas (2013), Mr. Goodin suprised me again with a new lens! I am in love. It is a Sigma 70-300 and it has changed my life. I am having a brand new love affair...with my camera. I have taken over 800 photos in the past year (old and new lens)...and deleted my fair share. Just be happy I spared you from the hundreds of really interesting practice shots.
Here are a few that made that cut to my blog....more to come. From Decemeber 2012 - February 2013
From the backyard....
I took a DSLR class finally...don't ask me to do this again. Shutter speed, light and a quick turn of the wrist.
Taken on a beautiful day in San Francisco as we were strolling to the America's Cup races. We passed by a fruit and vegetable market. I couldn't resist.
A few photos from our day at Key Biscayne Beach...the only dog beach in Miami. I kept calling myself the dog whisperer. I was practicing with the new Sigma lens.
