"Seasons" - An Ode to My Phone

Well it's Saturday morning. There is a chill in the air and the sun is not quite up yet. Today, I will be the travelling spouse. I am going to spend the night in Tampa in order to see Mr. Goodin who will be meeting me there from Chicago. It's a small price to pay to have a nice date night in a new city. It dawned on me that we have never been to Tampa together. Another adventure on our "Life on the D2".

Another realization this week as I pay tribute to my photos of the past, is that I would be neglect if I left out my phone camera photos. In this day in age when no one leaves home without their phone and would feel lost without it....my phone has become a way to document my life. A running autobiography of sorts. In some odd way, the phone camera can bring respite on a long day, just by a glimpse of those things that make you happy.  Stolen moments with loved ones, sunsets, food, and special occasions. Our phones connect us more than we would like to acknowledge. In one single shot, in a tiny moment of your life, you can capture a snapshot that will freeze time and bring you back to that moment in an instant. Thousands of photos lie in my phone and here are few of my favorites.....

A sunset on a July weekend in Key Largo

As we were leaving Key West on our anniversary weekend last summer, I asked Mr. Goodin to stop on the side of the road to take a picture of the pier where we married.

Everyday I come home to see a sunset. Some are just what I need after a long day.

Staycation in Ft. Lauderdale. My view from a lounge chair at the "W" hotel.

Yes, cows. A strange fascination.

My birthday weekend in Quebec City, Canada. A magical little shop filled with treats from one end to the other. In a blizzard, this was a highlight.
In a picture it's natures perfection...until you have to shovel. I simply call this "Winter"

saying goodbye

As I move forward with my new camera, it is always hard to say goodbye to a trusted old friend. It's like a good pair of tennis shoes that have worn down tread. I have had two cameras that have travelled with me for years! Each has seen places and endured travel conditions that most people would like to go. About a year ago, I went through all of those photos and made a "coffee table" book, actually two, to showcase my favorite digital photos. It was a like a trip down memory lane for me. I have always been fond of shooting things over people (except for the millions selfies of me and Mr. Goodin). So tomorrow is Throwback Thursday and in honor of my past, I will post my old digitals from my trusted old friends. I think this first camera was 2.1 mega pixel....I hope you enjoy.
